मुंबईच्या वांद्रे पूर्व येथील गरीब नगरमध्ये पश्चिम रेल्वेकडून मोठी तोडकाम कारवाई सुरू आहे. रेल्वेच्या जागेवरील अतिक्रमण हटवण्यासाठी सुरू असलेल्या या मोहिमेदरम्यान दोन जुन्या मशिदी पाडण्यात आल्याने परिसरात तणाव निर्माण झाला. स्थानिक रहिवाशांनी आंदोलन करत पोलिसांवर लाठीचार्ज आणि अन्यायाचे आरोप केले आहेत.
तोडकामाच्या तिसऱ्या दिवशीही कारवाई सुरू असून, पश्चिम रेल्वेचे मुख्य जनसंपर्क अधिकारी विनीत अभिषेक यांनी कारवाईची सद्यस्थिती स्पष्ट केली आहे. न्यायालयाच्या आदेशानुसार ही मोहीम राबवली जात असल्याचं रेल्वे प्रशासनाचं म्हणणं आहे.
